People around the globe had planned to visit Japan for the 2020 Olympics with over 600,000 tickets sold. But when their tickets to the games were canceled, so were their plans for visiting the inimitable city of Tokyo.

With the help of native Tokyoites, we surprised people who had to cancel their trips with the ultimate insider’s tour of the city. Taking place over three days and connecting our hosts in Japan with participants from all over the world, the tour took place entirely on Microsoft Teams.

The campaign launched nationally on TV during the Opening Ceremonies and ran on multiple platforms throughout the Olympic games.
